    Assistant Golf Coach

Matt Kelly of the High Point University men’s club soccer team has been a coach for the past decade, beginning as an assistant at Carolina University for seven seasons before joining HPU in 2021. As head coach, Kelly has guided HPU to multiple national tournament berths, facing schools such as the University of Maryland, UConn and UNC Wilmington. In addition to his work with HPU, Kelly also coaches at Carter G. Wilson, a K-12 school in Winston-Salem, leading the team to a runner-up finish in the 2022 state finals.
As a former walk-on for Southern Wesleyan University in Central, S.C., he learned the level of dedication and perseverance required to succeed in soccer. This is something Kelly instills in his players. He currently resides in Thomasville, N.C. with his wife, Angela, and their four children: Hannah, Samuel, Jonathan and Elijah.
