Keyren Corey serves as the head strength and conditioning coach for High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports. Originally from Hamden, Conn., Coach Corey’s journey in collegiate athletics began at East Carolina University, where he was a member of the football team and eventually became a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Before joining HPU, Coach Corey served as the head strength and conditioning coach for Pitt Community College men’s basketball team in Winterville, N.C. for over seven years. He also launched his own athletic performance program in 2010.
His tenure at HPU began in 2021 as the powerlifting head coach. In the spring of 2025 he took on lead strength and conditioning across all club sports. For Coach Corey, coaching is more than building physical strength; it’s also about using athletics as a platform to make a positive impact in young athletes’ lives. He is excited to add olympic lifts to the program starting fall 2025. Outside of coaching, he enjoys working out, spending quality time with his wife of 20 years and raising their three sons.
