The High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports (ICS) program announced that Chris Sciortino has been named as head coach of the Panthers' Esports program.

Sciortino earned his Bachelor of Arts in advertising, public relations and strategic communications along with a minor in social media marketing and game design from High Point.  He is currently pursuing his Master of Arts in communication and business leadership at High Point.

During Sciortino's four years with the Esports program he was a member of Overwatch team. After competing on the Overwatch unit as a freshman he was named as the team manager as a sophomore. During his junior and senior year, he not only continued to compete with the Overwatch team but also served as President of the Esports Club.

In his role as the President of the Esports Club, Sciortino oversaw all competitive operations within Esports, ensuring all teams enlisted in events to compete, such as scheduled events as well as Big South Conference Championship events. He also managed the social media platforms, contributed to collaborative ideas and scheduling socials' content and conducted player meetings on a weekly basis.

Sciortino will continue many of those duties as the new coach, along with researching for remote coaching to assist with the development of the High Point University ICS Esports team. Another key aspect for Esports player development will be to enhance their performance in larger venues and larger competitions.

Sciortino has gained experience in the private sector as well, serving as a Communications Associate at Jaine PR (May-December 2025) and as a Media Relations Intern for Amneal Pharmaceuticals (June-August 2024). He was a Student Concierge at High Point University from August 2023-May 2026.
