HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports program witnessed the conclusion of both the baseball and softball seasons this weekend.

The Panthers' baseball program emerged with four wins in its final week of action, including a three-game sweep of Western Carolina.

Meanwhile, the High Point softball team made the trek to the North Carolina foothills to compete in the National Collegiate Softball Association (NCSA) District III Tournament. It was there that the Panthers faced the combination of Kennesaw State (2x), Western Carolina and Wake Forest on Saturday and Sunday in a pursuit of reaching the NCSA College World Series.

After enduring a difficult stretch, dropping 15 of 16 contests, the High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports baseball team concluded the 2025-26 campaign by winning its final four games.

The Panthers halted a five-game losing streak, which spanned from April 11th through April 19th, by earning a 7-0 forfeit win against Winston-Salem State on Wednesday, April 22nd.

The winning ways continued in a three-game series against Western Carolina, which began on April 25th. High Point outscored the Catamounts 34-6 in its final series, marking the first series sweep of the season since the Panthers downed Elon in three games (8-4 / 10-3 / 7-6) on March 7-8.

The High Point offense scored multiple runs in four of the five innings in Friday's first game of the series, including a four-run third inning that broke the game open and provided the Panthers with a 7-1 advantage. In game two, it was a four-run second that proved to be the back breaker for the Catamounts, as High Point cruised to the nine-run win.

High Point's offense seized the opportunity to clinch the series sweep on Sunday by scoring three runs in the first two innings and adding seven over the final three innings. Meanwhile, effective pitching and solid defense limited Western Carolina to just one run, which came in the sixth inning, and seven hits in the contest.

The Panthers finished with 19 wins in 2025-26, earning 17 of those victories on home turf.

After concluding the regular season with 17-8-1 mark, which included a 7-1 record in the NCSA District III East Division, the High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports softball team spent the weekend in Hickory, N.C., where it competed in the District III Tournament.

The Panthers, who were the No. 3 seed, opened play on Saturday by facing Kennesaw State, which emerged with a 10-8 victory. High Point responded in the elimination clash with fourth-seeded Western Carolina, emerging with an 11-9 win.

High Point rebounded from the 10-8 setback to Kennesaw State in its earlier clash by outscoring the Owls 20-10 in an elimination game on Sunday morning. That victory set the stage for a rematch with Wake Forest, who split with the Panthers in High Point's home finale last weekend.

The Demon Deacons used a five-run first inning to grab the momentum and emerge with the 12-4 win, ending High Point's run to the NCSA College World Series.

High Point's season came to a close with a 19-10-1 overall record, including a 13-1 mark at home. The Panthers emerged with four shut outs and put together a six-game winning streak from November 1-November 15. High Point was also 7-1 in District III East Conference play with the lone setback coming to Wake Forest on April 11th.
