Aaron Evans

Aaron Evans

Aaron T. Evans joined the High Point University flag football coaching staff prior to the start of the 2026-27 season.

Evans attended Georgia Southern, earning a bachelor's degree in health and physical education in May 2024. He has also earned certifications from America Sport Education Program, National Federation of High School Sports Education and USA Basketball Gold.

Evans served as the defensive coordinator for the HFL Greensboro Panthers from 2015-21. Through his analysis of opposing team offenses, he developed a defensive scheme and plays for the Panthers. He also gave instruction and communication at skill position drills and assessed each athlete’s performance at practice and gameday.

Evans most recently roamed the sidelines as an assistant coach for the Carolina Stars Select Basketball AAU team. During the 2024 season, Evans prepared instruction and communication during skill position drills. He also analyzed practice and in-game film to help determine playing time for each rostered player, providing feedback to the coaching staff on each individual performance.

In 2015, Evans served as a volunteer quarterbacks coach at the Dave Amerson Football Camp, providing instruction at skill position drills.

Two years earlier, in 2013, he worked with the Carolina Heat semi-professional football team as the wide receiver’s coach. While with the Heat, Evans instructed and communicated with players regarding passing routes. His assessment feedback of games and practices with the receiving corps and coaches played a key role in determining playing time for each player.

Evans gained insight into the coaching world as a student assistant at Georgia Southern, where he worked with the women’s track and field program. He helped develop workouts and practices with the coaching staff, while developing a competition schedule. Evans assisted with the videography of each event, which provided assessment feedback for the coaching staff for each athlete’s performance.

Evans began his coaching career in the spring of 2000, where he served as the Langston Chapel Middle School girls track and field coach.  Later that year he assisted the football coaching staff, working primarily with the wide receivers and defensive backs. In that role, Evans established instruction, plays and specific communication with players and coaches regarding offensive and defensive sets.

Through his grading and in-game evaluations, Evans determined athletic performance and game time breakdowns for each player in the Langston Chapel Middle School football program.
