Austin Miller has been on the men’s club lacrosse coaching staff since 2018, serving three years as an assistant under Roger Davis before being elevated to the head coaching role in 2023. A native of Herndon, Va., Miller grew up playing lacrosse before excelling as a pole vaulter at High Point University, where he won the Big South indoor title as a senior in 2016 and was named to the conference’s All-Decade Team in June 2020.
As head coach of the club lacrosse program, Miller led the Panthers to the National Lacrosse League (NCLL) championship game in 2023 and a Final Four appearance in 2024. He also spearheaded the team’s transition to the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA), the highest level of club lacrosse, in fall 2024. Miller’s coaching philosophy revolves around positive reinforcement, and he believes it’s necessary for players to have a say in everything that happens on the operations side of the team. In addition to coaching, Miller continues to compete around the world as a professional pole vaulter and also writes for This Song is Sick, a music review website.
