Bailey Ayers joins High Point University’s club baseball program with a proven track record of building winning teams, developing high-impact offenses, and helping student-athletes excel both on the field and in the classroom.
Most recently serving as Recruiting Coordinator and Lead Hitting Coach at Savannah State University, Ayers helped guide the Tigers’ offense to national prominence. In 2024, Savannah State ranked among the top five nationally in four NCAA Division II offensive categories, including a .340 team batting average and a .464 on-base percentage. Eight players hit over .300, nine earned All-Conference honors, and the team’s aggressive base running ranked third in the nation in stolen bases. This campaign culminated in the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance in over a decade.
A builder of programs as well as lineups, Ayers assisted in the revival of the New River Community College baseball program after a multi-year hiatus, recruiting more than 25 players without the benefit of athletic scholarships or on-campus athletic facilities. In his absence, those recruits went on to break the institutional single-season win record in 2024. He has also led successful summer collegiate teams in the Southeastern Collegiate Baseball League and Beach Collegiate Baseball League, producing multiple All-League selections and a league MVP.
Committed to holistic development, Ayers emphasizes both athletic and academic excellence. His teams have earned some of the highest GPAs in their athletic departments, and his players have received prestigious honors, including institutional scholar-athlete awards.
A native of Pulaski County, Virginia, Ayers played collegiately at Bluefield University and Concord University, where he earned All-Academic honors. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Concord and is currently pursuing an MBA in Sports Business from Grand Canyon University.
At High Point University, Ayers brings a high-energy, detail-oriented coaching style with an emphasis on offensive production and complete player development.
