High Point University Club Sports

John Huggins joined the High Point University club baseball staff prior to the start of the 2026-27 season.

Huggins most recently served as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator of Future Sports Business Executives Academy (FSBE) post grad academy, where recruited and signed over 20 players to play at the collegiate level in the past four seasons.

In 2024, Huggins served as the graduate assistant pitching coach at Kentucky Christian University in the very competitive Appalachian Athletic Conference. He was involved in working with and sending multiple players to play independent league baseball as well as higher ranked colleges across the country.

In addition to coaching at FSBE, Huggins played a key role in recruiting and winning the  American Legion Baseball State Championship in 2022 and 2023. While playing in nearby Asheboro, N.C., his team secured the first district crown in over 70 years.

Additionally, he coached at The Hangout baseball collegiate league for two seasons, earning 14 wins as a coach, and helped develop two potential JUCO draft picks.
A native of Ocala, Fla., Huggins played collegiately at Trinity Baptist College and graduated with his bachelors in sports management / business.

Brought up in the old school environment of baseball, Huggins is very excited to bring new, well-rounded tactics to the program for the 2026-27 club season.
