The High Point University Club Sports programs wrapped up a highly successful week (October 19-October 26) on Sunday with a series of wins by the Men's Hockey Purple (D2) team against Wake Forest (4-2) and the women's soccer team delivering a 2-0 win over N.C. State. 

Meanwhile, the HPU Club tennis program emerged with a 2-2 split against UNC Wilmington in the opening match of the campaign. 

High Point Club sports also enjoyed a successful weekend from the rowing team, which capped off the Secret City Head Race Regatta in Oak Ridge, Tennessee by winning four medals at the event. 

The High Point Club pickleball team finished third overall at an event held in Virginia Beach, Va., this weekend. As a result of a victory over Virginia, in the first contest of the day, High Point claimed its spot in the spring 2026 NCPA Nationals. 

BASEBALL 
The Panthers' Club baseball team claimed its eighth win of the season after posting a 13-1 victory over UNC Wilmington on Saturday afternoon in Greenville, S.C. The Panthers opened the NCBA Tournament with a 6-5 setback to Dayton, who won on a walk-off, before falling to South Carolina by a 13-5 margin. High Point bounced back to close out the tournament with a decisive 13-1 triumph over UNC Wilmington, moving its record to 8-3. 

FIELD HOCKEY
The High Point Club field hockey team squared off against Wake Forest on Sunday afternoon. The Panthers suffered an 8-0 setback in their clash with nearby Wake Forest. 

MEN'S ICE HOCKEY | PURPLE (D2) TEAM
High Point's Purple (D2) men's ice hockey team finished 1-1 on the week after splitting a pair of clashes with Wake Forest. The two teams met on Friday afternoon at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds, where the Demon Deacons emerged with a 4-0 victory. However, High Point retaliated in its Breast Cancer Awareness game against the Demon Deacons. The Panthers emerged with a 4-2 victory at the Greensboro Ice House and moved to 8-4 on the season. 

WOMEN'S ICE HOCKEY
After opening the 2025-26 season with a 6-0 mark, the High Point women's ice hockey team suffered its first setback of the slate (6-5) to South Carolina on Sunday morning. The Panthers had outscored their opponents 81-3, heading into the clash with the Gamecocks. That included three shutouts early in the season against Georgia Southern (17-0 / 18-0) and West Chester (Pa.) (8-0). 

MEN'S LACROSSE
The High Point Club men's lacrosse team enjoyed an offensive explosion in a clash with Elon this weekend, en route to its first win of the season. The Panthers emerged with a 19-7 victory over Elon. High Point opened the season with back-to-back setbacks to Wake Forest (14-5) and North Carolina (14-5) on the road. 

WOMEN'S LACROSSE
The Panthers' Club women's lacrosse team headed to Greenville, N.C., for a pair of games with East Carolina and Maryland. 

In the second game of the day, Maryland outscored the Panthers 9-6, before High Point returned home. 

PICKLEBALL
The High Point Club pickleball team finished third overall at an event held in Virginia Beach, Va., this weekend. As a result of a victory over Virginia, in the first contest of the day, High Point claimed its spot in the spring 2026 NCPA Nationals. 

The Panthers, who were perfect (3-0) in pool play, opened weekend play with a 3-0 victory over No. 1 seeded Virginia on Saturday. Facing a 3-1 deficit, High Point retaliated to even the contest at three-all, sending the clash to a dream breaker, which the Panthers successfully won. High Point quickly moved to 2-0 in pool play with a 4-0 triumph against Carnegie Mellon and with the victory advanced to the semifinal round against Virginia Tech on Sunday morning. 

The Panthers' success continued against the Hokies, as High Point emerged with a 4-0 win, advancing to the semifinals. It was there that the Panthers dropped a 3-2 decision to Liberty, placing third overall. 

ROWING
The High Point Club rowing team capped off the Secret City Head Race Regatta in Oak Ridge, Tennessee by winning four medals at the event. The Panthers earned first place in the men's novice 4+ and also claimed a first-place win in the men's varsity 4+. The men's varsity 8+ unit brought home first place in its race, while the women's novice 4+ finished second in the race on the weekend. 

MEN'S SOCCER PURPLE
The HPU men's soccer purple unit suffered its first defeat of the season following a 2-1 setback to Davidson on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers were on a three-game winning streak, picking up wins over Charlote (2-1), Carolina University (2-0) and UNC Greensboro (1-0) entering the contest. 

Prior to that, the Panthers had tied both Elon and North Carolina 1-1 on the season after posting a 1-0 victory over Wake Forest. 

WOMEN'S SOCCER
High Point Club women's soccer picked up its third win in the last four outings following a 2-0 victory over N.C. State on Sunday, October 26th. 

The Panthers, who had their third shutout of the season, began their winning streak with a 2-1 victory against East Carolina on September 28th. After suffering a 2-0 setback in Chapel Hill to North Carolina, High Point posted a 2-1 victory against Wake Forest on October 19th. Facing off against another Tobacco Road foe, N.C. State, on Sunday, the Panthers grabbed a 2-0 win in the process. 

SOFTBALL
The High Point Club softball unit made the trek to the Queen City of Charlotte in search of its sixth win of the campaign. 

The Panthers, who were riding a three-game winning streak, which began with an 8-0 victory against Livingstone (Sept. 28), suffered a pair of setbacks. The first came to Johnson & Wales, who emerged 10-3 in the contest. High Point's bats struggled to get going in the second game of the Sunday afternoon doubleheader, falling to Gaston Community College by an 18-0 score. 

TENNIS
Head Coach Lane Evans, a 1980 graduate of High Point, helped mark the triumphant return of the tennis team on campus as the Panthers' Club tennis team finished with a 2-2 tie in its clash with UNC Wilmington on Sunday afternoon. 

The Panthers won Match (A) over UNC-Wilmington by a score of 22-19. Brook Dhillon and Jordy Havert won the women's doubles match 6-3 for the Panthers. Meanwhile, Jacob Marcovici won the men's singles match 6-0. The mixed doubles tandem of Noah Thornburg and Jordy Havert won the mixed doubles match 6-4.  

UNC Wilmington rebounded to capture a 26-18 victory in the second match (B). The key win for the Panthers came from Corrine Daniels, who won the women's singles clash by a 6-2 margin. High Point took that momentum and captured a win in the match (C) exhibition, 30-8. However, UNC Wilmington claimed the match (D) exhibition by a score of 30-14. The Panthers received a 7-6 win from the tandem of Brooke Dhillon and Corrine Daniels in the women's doubles match. 

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
High Point Club volleyball headed to the Palmetto State for a series of matches at Clemson, S.C. 

The Panthers fell by a 2-0 margin in the opening game of the Clemson Tournament to Appalachian State "A" team. Just over an hour later, High Point squared off against Florida, which emerged with a 2-0 win in the second match of the day. 

High Point closed out the afternoon by facing the Appalachian State "B" team as well.
