The High Point University Club Sports programs completed a week of contests from October 27-November 2 with a series of strong performances by pickleball, rowing, softball, ultimate frisbee and the men's ice hockey white (D3) program. 

The White (D3) men's ice hockey put the brakes on a four-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., on Sunday afternoon.

The High Point Club pickleball team made a western trek to Farmer's Branch, Texas, to take part in the DUPR World Championships on October 31-November 1. The Panthers returned with two wins, which came over Drury (3-1) and Oklahoma Baptist (4-0), as they picked up their sixth and seventh overall wins of the campaign. 

The High Point Club rowing program sent 21 student-athletes and six boats to Chattanooga, Tenn., this weekend to participate in the Head of the Hooch Regatta. The Panthers finished inside the Top 45 of six events, including an event-best 22nd-place finish in the women's collegiate 8+, let by Nicole Kellan. 

High Point Club softball improved its mark to 7-2-1 with a sweep of Surry CC on November 1st. Head Coach Kevin Haithcock's squad opened November with a 12-6 win in the first game against the Knights. High Point completed the sweep, its second of the season and first since downing Radford in back-to-back games on September 20th, with an 8-4 win in game two of the series. 

The Panthers' ultimate frisbee team emerged with a split after venturing to Greenville, N.C., to take part in the Cutlass Curse Tournament this weekend. High Point, which had suffered three setbacks to Wake Forest (10-8 / 15-3 / 13-7) during competitions in September and October, began the weekend with an emphatic 15-10 win against Davidson.

BASEBALL
The Panthers' Club baseball unit was set to take on Elon on October 29th at Williard Stadium. However, due to inclement weather in the Triad, the game was postponed due to a later date. 

BASS FISHING
It took a few days of research, and while it's not the biggest, the data collected by the HPU Bass Fishing program it has been confirmed that it is the second-biggest bass caught in program history. At The Intramural at City Lake last weekend, Jack Meehan reeled in a 4 lb. 15 oz. bass, which ranks as the largest catch of the season thus far and second largest in program history. 

MEN'S ICE HOCKEY | WHITE (D3) TEAM
The White (D3) men's ice hockey snapped a four-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., on Sunday afternoon. The Panthers, who had been edged out by one goal in games against Charlotte (4-3 / 4-3) on September 26-27 and West Chester (Pa.) (5-4 / 2-1) on October 17-18, closed out their third win of the campaign by downing Virginia Tech (Nov. 2). High Point returns home on November 7th and November 8th against Loyola (Md.). The Friday night game will take place at the Greensboro Ice House (8:15 p.m.) and Saturday's game will take place at the Greensboro Coliseum at 2 p.m. 

ROWING
The High Point Club rowing program sent 21 student-athletes and six boats to Chattanooga, Tenn., this weekend to participate in the Head of the Hooch Regatta. 

The Panthers finished 22nd in the women's collegiate 8+ event, closing in a time of 18:55.678 as they were led by Nicole Kellan. The top time in the event came from Vanderbilt, which closed in 15:35.733. 

High Point had two entries in the women's collegiate 4+ event. The top finisher was led by Kellan, who crossed the line in 20:33.765, posting the 36th best time. Lauren Glessner led the Panthers in the 4+ event, resulting in a 41st-place finish with a time of 23:28.267. Vanderbilt was also the champion of the 4+ event, notching a time of 16:45.262. 

The men's team had two entries in the collegiate 4+ event. Noah Craig guided his Panther team to a 35th-place finish (18:13.125), while Jayden Hisey's unit was 41st overall with a mark of 22:18.938. The Texas Crew unit took top honors with a time of 15:18.266. 

High Point also competed in the men's collegiate 8+ event, placing 33rd overall with Craig again at the helm. The Panthers posted a time of 17:39.53, just over four minutes off the pace established by event champion Alabama, which posted a time of 13:49.908. 

PICKLEBALL

High Point opened with a clash against Virginia on October 31st, falling by a 3-2 score in their fourth dreambreaker of the season. The Panthers then squared off against TCU in the second match of the day, again suffering a 3-2 setback in a dreambreaker. 

High Point returned to the court to face India University, which prevailed by a 4-0 margin. The Panthers collected their first win in the Lonestar State, sixth of the season, in 3-1 fashion over Drury. That was followed by a dominating 4-0 win against Oklahoma Baptist. The two-day event concluded with a 3-2 setback in a dreambreaker match against Texas. 

MEN'S SOCCER | PURPLE
The High Point Purple men's soccer squad earned a bid to Regionals, which were held at Bryan Park in Browns Summit, N.C., on October 31st and November 1st. The Panthers faced North Carolina in the first game of the event, falling by a score of 5-0. It was the second match of the season for the two squads after they battled to a 1-1 deadlock in High Point on September 24th. 

High Point returned to the pitch to face UCF in the Regionals, ending with a 4-0 setback. 

SOFTBALL

WOMEN'S ICE HOCKEY
The High Point Club women's ice hockey team suffered its second loss of the slate (7-1) to Liberty on Sunday, November 2nd. The Panthers, who took to the road for the second time this season, were limited to one goal by a stingy Liberty defense. High Point will look to snap its two-game losing streak, which includes a 6-5 setback to South Carolina, when it travels to Athens, Ga., to face the University of Georgia on November 8-9. 

ULTIMATE FRISBEE 
The Panthers' ultimate frisbee team emerged with a split after venturing to Greenville, N.C., to take part in the Cutlass Curse Tournament this weekend. High Point, which had suffered three setbacks to Wake Forest (10-8 / 15-3 / 13-7) during competitions in September and October, began the weekend with an emphatic 15-10 win against Davidson. The Panthers fell in a clash with UNC Asheville by a 15-2 margin.
