HIGH POINT, N.C.- Intercollegiate Club Sports (ICS) is proud to announce Jeffrey Lewallen (HPU Alumnus) as the new Head Coach of the ICS Golf Team. Lewallen brings a unique blend of strategic leadership and passion for golf and student development. Alan Spainhour will join him as Assistant Coach with decades of experience as a high school golf coach and course superintendent.
Currently serving as Manager of Strategic Initiatives at High Point University within the Workman School of Dental Medicine, Lewallen is known for his operational insight and ability to lead complex projects from concept to execution. He exemplifies the type of discipline, planning, and leadership essential to leading a competitive and cohesive golf program. Lewallen's previous experience working at Holly Ridge Golf Links helped him develop a lifelong appreciation for the life values learned through the game of golf and positions him to lead ICS Golf as it continues to elevate expectations, grow, and cultivate a strong community. Additionally, Jeffrey demonstrates a service mindset serving as a board member for Victory Junction Camp.
Alan Spainhour adds a level of experience and poise as the assistant coach. Spainhour was the head golf coach at Wesleyan Christian Academy for 10 years and has served as a course superintendent for 16 years in the midst of his 30-year collegiate basketball officiating career. Spainhour spent 23 years in the ACC and officiated in the NCAA, NIT, and ACC tournaments. He called ten division one tournament finals within the Big South and Southern Conferences during his tenure. As a retired business owner, Alan has the flexibility to spend some time on the links with HPU's golf team and mentor the student-athletes. We are grateful for both leaders as they step into this opportunity.
