LYNCHBURG, Va. – The High Point University Club women's ice hockey team captured the 2025 Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League (ACCHL) Fall Championship with a perfect 4-0 mark on Sunday, November 23rd.
The Panthers rolled through the Commonwealth of Virginia and outscored their opponents by a 38-16 margin en route to the victory. The four victories stretched High Point's winning streak to six straight, dating back to a 4-1 win over Georgia on November 8th in Athens, Ga.
High Point began the ACCHL Fall Tournament with a 6-4 win over Virginia Tech on Friday, November 21st at the LeHaye Ice Arena. The following afternoon, the Panthers squared off against North Carolina and notched a 14-7 victory over the Tar Heels.
That 14-goal performance marked the fifth-most single-game goals scored by High Point this season. The Panthers scored their most single-game goals (19) in a clash with N.C. State on September 26th. High Point also managed 18 goals (vs. Georgia Southern—Sept. 21), 17 goals (vs. Georgia Southern—Sept. 20) and 15 goals (vs. N.C. State—Sept. 27).
High Point returned to the ice on Sunday morning to take on George Washington in the Semifinals and exploded for 12 goals in a dominating victory over the Revolutionaries. The shut out was the fourth of the season for High Point, which emerged with its 11th win.
The Panthers opened the season with back-to-back shut outs of Georgia Southern, claiming wins of 17-0 and 18-0 on September 20th and 21st, respectively. In October, High Point posted an 8-0 win over West Chester (Pa.), resulting in the third shutout.
With the offense clicking on all cylinders, High Point headed into the Championship Game clash with Virginia on Sunday afternoon. The Panthers responded with six goals in a 6-5 victory, evening the record to 1-1 in one-goal contests on the season.
High Point closes out first half of the season with a 12-2-0 mark and a six-game winning streak. The Panthers return to action in January and will host West Virginia on January 16-17 at the Greensboro Icehouse.
