HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports wrapped up an busy three-game stretch that included 18 events from March 20th through March 22nd. The Panthers' was highlighted by successes of the equestrian and softball programs.
The High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports equestrian team finished one point out of second place on the regular season, which concluded in Emory, Va. Those who reached the Zone Finals were

The High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports softball concluded a four-game in two-day stretch by finishing 2-2 on the weekend. High Point began the week by learning that it secured a bid to its second straight Regionals, following a sweep of Elon last week.
High Point claimed an 8-7 victory over Charlotte and a 12-8 win against East Carolina and climbed to No. 1 in the country with the victories. High Point sits atop the recent National Club Softball Association (NCSA) Division II Softball Polls, after earning 100 votes.

BASEBALL

The High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports baseball team had its first road series of the spring season, traveling to Charlotte for a two-day, three-game series with the 49ers. Charlotte opened the series with a 4-3 win in the opening game of the series on Saturday afternoon. The 49ers followed that with a one-run victory, 3-2, which marked just the fifth one-run contest for High Point this season. The two teams returned to action at Melvin Park on Sunday afternoon, where Charlotte completed the series sweep with a high-scoring 16-10 triumph over the Panthers. High Point will look to return to the win column on Wednesday evening at Williard when the Panthers host New River Community College at 7:15 p.m.
EQUESTRIAN
March 21-22 | at Emory & Henry | Third Place
The High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports equestrian team finished one point out of second place on the regular season, which concluded in Emory, Va. The event combined points from the previous event against UNC Greensboro (Feb. 22).
High Point also sent five competitors to the Zone Finals in the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA), which will take place April 3-4 at Goucher College in Baltimore, Md. Those who reached the Zone Finals were

March 21-22 | at North Carolina Regional Tournament | 5th of 8 teams
The High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports golf team capped off its second tournament of March by placing fifth of eight teams at the North Carolina Regional Tournament at Bermuda Run, N.C., this weekend. The Panthers fired a 770 (+60) over the two-day event, finishing eight shots shy of fourth-place UNC Wilmington 'A'. N.C. State 'A' topped the team leaderboard with a 731 (+21), edging out Coastal Carolina 'A' and Appalachian State 'A', which fired a 744 (+34) and 761 (+51), respectively.
Freshman
Abhay Minhas was the top individual performer for the Panthers, finishing tied for 14th with a score of 151 after posting 75 and 76 in consecutive days.
Ayden Delforte was two strokes off the pace with a 153 (79-74), finishing in a tie for 18th. The High Point pair of
Ryan Frohlich (82-73) and
Dominic Schutte (78-77) tied for 20th overall with final scores of 155. Meanwhile,
Brandon Eckart tied for 26th overall with a 157 after firing a 79 and a 78 in consecutive rounds.
ROWING

Making its first appearance since the Head of the South events on November 7th, the High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports rowing participated in the John Ferris Shamrock Sprints in Gainesville, Ga., over the weekend. The event was held at the Lake Lanier Olympic Park.
The Panthers took part in four races, including the Women's Collegiate 8+, Women's Collegiate 4+, Men's Collegiate 4+ and the Men's Collegiate Novice 8+.
SOFTBALL

However, Montreat's NCAA Division III squad came through with a pair of wins (4-1 / 19-8) on Saturday afternoon. It dropped the Panthers to 15-6-1 with all six losses coming to NCAA Division III programs.
However, the Panthers rebounded and emerged with a pair of wins on Sunday afternoon at Armstrong Park. High Point claimed an 8-7 victory over Charlotte and a 12-8 win against East Carolina and climbed to No. 1 in the country with the victories. High Point sits atop the recent National Club Softball Association (NCSA) Division II Softball Polls, after earning 100 votes, ahead of Rutgers and Northern Michigan, who round out the Top 3. The Panthers have one NCSA opponent, Wake Forest, remaining on the schedule. High Point will host the Demon Deacons on Saturday, April 11th at Armstrong Park (10 am. / 12 p.m.).
MEN'S LACROSSE

A trip north to Michigan for the High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports men's lacrosse team resulted in a 1-1 split for the Panthers. High Point opened the weekend with an 11-7 win at Central Michigan on Friday evening, resulting in the fourth win of the season. However, the Panthers fell in a clash with Grand Valley State in Allendale, the following afternoon by a 19-6 score.
High Point makes a brief return home on Wednesday evening to face Wake Forest at Vert Stadium at 7 p.m. However, the Panthers return to the road for clashes at Davidson (March 28) and Charlotte (March 29) this weekend.
MEN'S SOCCER (PURPLE)
March 21 | vs. Appalachian State | L, 2-1
The High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports men's soccer purple squad suffered a difficult 2-1 setback to Appalachian State at Congdon Field on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers' mark slipped to 4-5-2 overall and was just their second home loss this season. The High Point squad has games at Wake Forest (March 27) and East Carolina (March 28) to close out the month.
WOMEN'S LACROSSE

After claiming wins over Wake Forest (8-4) and East Carolina (7-6 OT) on February 8th, the High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports women's lacrosse team headed to Mount Pleasant, S.C., for a trio of games in the Palmetto State.
High Point opened Saturday with a clash against Florida Gulf Coast, with the Panthers falling 9-8 in a tightly contested battle. The Panthers then squared off against Florida Atlantic at 1 p.m. and suffered a 16-7 setback. Host College of Charleston went head-to-head with High Point in the final clash of the day, emerging with a 9-5 win to wrap up the weekend for the Panthers.

The High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports women's soccer capped off a busy three-game in three-day schedule with a weekend sweep. The Panthers opened the weekend with a 7-0 win at Davidson on Friday evening, which marked the fifth shutout of the season. The seven goals were a single-game season high for High Point.
On Saturday, at Congdon Field, High Point delivered its sixth shutout of the season in 4-0 fashion against Western Carolina. The Panthers' squad exploded for six goals in a victory over Davidson at Congdon Field on Sunday afternoon. It marked the second-most single-game goals for the Panthers this season and marked the first three-game winning streak of the slate.
